DTC SL Lingual Brackets

Advantage: 

1. The design is done with smooth contours for maximum patient comfort.
2. The Self-Ligation is passive with very low friction, especially on those very important functional 016 x 022 wires…however the torque play is reduced and therefore torque delivery more efficient.
3. The slot/base angle is different to get a closer fit of the bracket to the Lingual Gingival third of the morphology, thus making the traditional composite pads thinner. This should also increase patient tolerance.
4. The slot size is smaller, so therefore smaller wires will be used, making the forces transmitted to the teeth lighter and wires easier to insert.
5. The SL door is inside the bracket body creating a 4th wall and therefore closing the wires inside against all possible forces that would displace an o-ring elastic ligature or possibly open a SL clip. So no problem for rotation forces and retraction forces! But still with low friction, unlike the normal elastic ligations which create high friction and poor wire retention in crowding cases.
6. The ‘doors’ are smaller than the bracket body, so therefore easier to insert wires earlier with an increased ‘free wire’ distance between brackets.
7. Strong design with N-17 stainless steel bracket body via MIM (Metal Injection Molding).
